    How the calculation works

Revenue is the number of clients multiplied by your monthly price per client.

The founder's cost is the fixed licence fee, plus any fee per client, plus the agreed revenue share of what you bill.

Profit is revenue minus the founder's cost and your own costs, such as support, hosting and marketing. Margin is profit as a percentage of revenue.

Break-even is the number of clients whose contribution, after per-client fees and revenue share, covers the fixed licence fee and your own costs.

Which licence terms raise your margin

A fixed monthly licence suits resellers who expect to grow: once the fee is covered, every extra client adds to profit.

A revenue share or per-client fee costs less while you are small, but takes a slice of every sale as you grow. Ask whether the share falls at higher volumes.

Exclusivity for a region or industry usually costs more, but it can let you charge more because no competitor resells the same product there.

    Before you sign

Agree who supports end customers, how updates and outages are handled, and how you export client data if the agreement ends. These terms affect your real costs as much as the fee does.

    Common questions

What is a good margin for reselling white-label SaaS?

It depends on the licence terms and how much support you provide. Use the calculator to compare offers: if your margin stays thin with the number of clients you expect, negotiate a lower fee or charge for the setup and support you add.

Should I pay a fixed licence fee or a revenue share?

A fixed fee costs less once you have enough clients; a revenue share costs less while you are small. Enter both offers with the number of clients you expect in a year to see which leaves more profit.

What costs should I include besides the licence?

Include everything you pay to run the service for clients: support time, onboarding, hosting or integrations the founder does not cover, payment processing and the marketing that wins clients.
